Trinity Hip Hop Festival 2011: Exhibition B-Boy Battle (El Nino vs. Neguin)

In April 2011, the Trinity International Hip Hop Festival hosted its biggest b-boy event in its six year history! Headlining the event was a rematch from the Red Bull BC One World Championships 2010 between Boston’s El Nino and Brazil’s Neguin, who ended up taking the world champion title. The event was arranged by two of the world’s largest b-boy organizations: Mighty 4 (mighty4.tv) and Zulu Nation (local Chapter 860/Underground Coalition) along with Trinity College, Nomadic Wax and World Hip Hop Market.

Trinity International Hip Hop Festival 2011: Amkoullel (Mali)- 'Na I Don'

Malian emcee Amkoullel performing the single ‘Na I Don’ live at the Trinity College International Hip Hop Festival (2011) in Hartford, CT. Amkoullel is recognized as the most talented and socially committed Malian rapper, harmoniously combining traditional and contemporary global cultures to promote social responsibility. He is a popular star who also boosts the image of Africa through education and culture. Amkoullel is a cultural and social entrepreneur, a successful TV presenter, a producer, video director and actor as well. In 2009, Amkoullel was honoured at the Malian Hip Hop Awards three times. In 2010 he released his 4th album Ne Ka Mali!! with four amazing videos and launched the first ‘Koterap’ Bama Saba at the famous Avignon festival.

This exhibition battle was between Hartford’s own Fever 187 and San Francisco’s Bionic Man.
