Eli Jacobs Fantauzzi

Eli Jacobs-Fantauzzi is a film director making his mark in the international documentary scene. A graduate of UC Berkeley, he received his MA degree from NYU Tisch School of the Arts. Before graduation, he won the prestigious juried Student Filmmaker Award from the Pan-African Film Festival for his documentary Inventos: Hip Hop Cubano. He has recently released his new film called HomeGrown: Hip Life in Ghana, in which he continued the theme of using music to provide insights to culture and socio/political issues. Eli has worked on film projects in the U.S., Europe, Africa, India and more, his international work is featured in Jeff Chang's book "Total Chaos: The Art and Aesthetics of Hip Hop". His dedication to his craft is deeply connected to his commitment to social justice.
